This Decision Support Tool (DST) is for practitioners and policy makers concerned with Swajaldhara, India’s community-managed rural water supply programme.

Based on the 4-phases of Swajaldhara, the DST outlines the activities involved in each phase, the poverty-livelihood- gender issues that implementers are likely to face during implementation, and how to tackle these issues, based on case studies and examples from projects around the country.
